Enviromental Policy In Taiwan As a Model for Developing Countries

Taiwan can be seen among a few countries such as, Japan and South Korea who caught democratic and economic development at the same time. As a country Taiwan which have formed and applied comprehensive environmental policies since 2000, should be followed as a model on the formation of environmental policies, environmental law, environmental organization and environmental practices on local, national and global levels, especially by Turkey and the other developing countries. To take Taiwan’s Environmental Policy as a model will contribute to combat with global environmental issues and to reach the goal of sustainable development, and also may contribute Taiwan to be understood as a sovereign country. Although being kept out of United Nations system since 1971, Taiwan fulfills international global warming and climate change policies by coherent local, national and global environmental policies according to United Nations regulations. With regard to developed Asian Countries, Taiwan, in terms of both economic and public policies, especially environmental policies, is an exceptional country that must be taken as a model by Turkey and the other developing countries.
