First of all, I should express that I am delighted to have had the opportunity to prepare a fourth edition of this textbook. The support and constructive comments received in relation to the first three editions have been most encouraging and I hope that this edition continues to satisfy the needs of the faculties of law and political science students.
Since the appearance of this textbook, Introduction to Law in a nutshell, one of the questions I have been asked most frequently is this: Could you make this book more student friendly by increasing self-test questions and adding different types of questions?
In response to students’ demand and perhaps lecturers’ wishes, I have decided to add fill in the blanks and True/False questions into this new edition. I hope that this new feature will make the textbook more student friendly.
This new addition also allows me to update and expand some topics and references. Finally, I hope that I have taken care of the few errors still remaining in the third edition. I like to use this opportunity to thank the students who have identified them to me. Their support has always been invaluable in my effort to improve this book.
